Preaching the gospel. Making disciples.
Proclaiming good news and sharing God's love for ChingfordSunday Worship at 11am, Bible Study Wednesdays at 7pm
Welcome to KRBC
We’re glad you’ve made it to our website, and we hope to meet you soon!
On this site you’ll find information about the church — who we are and what we believe. Put simply though, we’re a group of people in Chingford, united by our love for the God who has reached out to the world through His Son, Jesus Christ.
This truth that we find in God’s word, the Bible, drives everything that we do as a church. It’s why we exist, and why we meet together each week. So whether it’s the first time you’re hearing this good news, or if you’ve heard it and believed it for many years, we’d love for you to join us. You can find details about our meetings here, or if you have any questions you can get in touch and we’ll do our best to answer them!
Our aim is to be a church that is ‘preaching the gospel, making disciples’. You can view our mission statement and our church vision here.

What We Believe
When getting to know a church, it’s important to know what they believe and teach. Below is a summary of what we believe the Bible teaches about some important issues (you can click here to see the full version). Of course, if you have any questions, we’d love to hear from you.
God:
There is one God, who exists eternally in three distinct but equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Lord Jesus Christ:
The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life in obedience to the Father. He taught with authority and all His words are true.
The Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit has been sent from heaven to glorify Christ and to apply His work of salvation. He convicts sinners, imparts spiritual life, and gives a true understanding of Scripture.
The Bible:
God has revealed Himself in the Bible, which consists of 66 books. These books are known as the Old and New Testaments. We do not acknowledge the Apocrypha as the inspired Word of God.
Salvation:
Salvation is entirely a work of God’s grace and cannot be earned or deserved.
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper:
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper have been given to the Church by Christ as visible signs of the gospel.
The Human race:
All men and women, being created in the image of God, have inherent and equal dignity and worth. Their greatest purpose is to obey, worship and love God.
The Church:
The universal church is the body of which Christ is the head and to which all who are saved belong. It is made visible in the local church: congregations of believers who are committed to each other for the worship of God.
The Future:
The Lord Jesus Christ will return in glory. He will raise the dead and judge the world in righteousness.
Meet Our Pastor
Grayson was raised in a Christian family near Richmond, Virginia, in the United States. He rebelled for many years against God and the Christian upbringing he had. After troubling years as a teen and testing times through university, Grayson enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. Only months before his deployment to Iraq in 2008, Grayson met his wife Sarah (a lovely English woman) whom God used to bring him to salvation in Jesus Christ. Grayson and Sarah were married the year following his return from deployment. After 8 years of active-duty Grayson and Sarah transitioned out of full-time military life. This was not an easy decision or transition, but Grayson was being called to full-time ministry and a seminary education was the first step.
In 2015 the Fuhrmans moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA), so that Grayson could attend Westminster Theological Seminary and later Palmer Theological Seminary (Eastern Baptist Seminary). In 2017 Grayson was called as the Youth/Children’s ministry director at Berachah Church, an Independent Evangelical church, where he had taken membership shortly after arriving in PA. After his ordination in early 2019, Grayson was called as a full time Pastor at the church, overseeing children’s ministries, discipleship programmes and assisting the senior pastor. Grayson graduated with a Master of Biblical Counselling from Westminster and a Masters of Divinity from Palmer in 2019.
Grayson & co. moved to England in late 2019 to work with the Message Trust as an Eden Team leader in Luton. His work was based around Urban Missions, evangelising to the poor and needy on a low-income estate. Grayson then answered the call to pastor Kings Road Baptist Church in Mid 2021, where he serves today!
Grayson and Sarah have 4 children and Winston (their black lab). Grayson is a massive Spurs fan, loves music, a good book, fitness, DIY and a good intellectual conversation — but most importantly he loves spending time with his wife and children!
Church Giving
Why We Give
The stewardship of our finances matters. All we have is a gift from God and how we use it is a tremendous-and often overlooked-area of our lives. How we steward it reveals how we view money. Giving is both an act of worship and obedience but also a way by which we can faithfully proclaim the gospel. Giving strengthens our devotion to Christ and frees us to live open-handedly with the gifts God gives us. Giving shows we trust in Him and His provision instead of our perceived self-sufficiency. As people of faith, we give faithfully and generously, and it is a great blessing to God’s people to do so!
Where Your Giving Goes
Here at Kings Road Baptist Church, we recognise that God has blessed us in many ways and for a reason-to be generous to others. We are a Gospel centred church with a focus on evangelism and mission. We want to see the proclamation of The Gospel go out and change lives. As the church grows our goal is to see 10% of our income go back out in missional giving. We hope that not only will you see tithing/giving as an act of worship and trust, but as something exciting to give to!
Whilst the direction of our finances is overseen by the elders, practically they are monitored by The Association of Grace Baptist Churches, South East. We trust this provides confidence in how we handle our finances, together with a sense of excitement as to how this is being used within our church family, locally, nationally and to the ends of the world.
How You Can Give
You can give in various ways, such as cheque, cash during the offering or bank transfer. Feel free to send us a message if you’d like the details.
If you are a UK taxpayer, please consider gift aiding whatever you give as the church is able to claim a further 25% on top!
Our Church Vision
KRBC Mission statement:
“Preaching the gospel, making disciples.”
We seek to glorify God by making disciples through gospel-centered worship, gospel-centered service and gospel-centered outreach in and throughout Chingford.
Grow:
Help the current members grow in the depth of their relationship with Christ. Sound bible teaching is primary to achieve this growth!
- Weekly Bible study
- Expository Preaching of God’s Word
- Mentoring and Discipleship programs
- Work toward monthly in person fellowship meals, and times of worship as a church
Children’s work:
As the church grows, we will want to build a curriculum that is age appropriate and parallels the weekly Sermon. This means that the family unit grows together as we walk through scripture.
- Train members and sharpen them so that they can use the skills they already have to teach young people about God.
- Lord willing, have a weekly meeting for young people who are a part of the church/community. (This is a chance for young people to bring friends who can learn about Christ)
- We want to use a multi-generational approach.
Evangelize:
Meet people where they are.
- Street evangelism.
- Coffee shop conversations.
- Meeting the neighbors (knocking on houses around the church.)
- Hold community engagement events from time to time.
Outreach:
Caring for those in need.
- This is something that will need to be researched and built over time. This area will best grow as the church grows both in depth and number. This is an outpouring of Spirits work in us.
Missional minded:
The church is Global.
- Carry on supporting current missionaries.
- Seek to support more missionaries as the church is able.
- Be a church that trains and sends missionaries out.
- Be a church that seeks to plant more churches.
For any questions about our church vision, please get in touch here.
What We Believe
God:
There is one God, who exists eternally in three distinct but equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is unchangeable in His holiness, justice, wisdom, and love. He is the almighty Creator, Saviour and Judge who sustains and governs all things according to His sovereign will for His own glory.
The Lord Jesus Christ:
The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life in obedience to the Father. He taught with authority and all His words are true. On the cross He died in the place of sinners, bearing God’s punishment for their sin, and redeeming them by His blood. He rose from the dead and in His resurrection body ascended into heaven where He is exalted as Lord of all.
The Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit has been sent from heaven to glorify Christ and to apply His work of salvation. He convicts sinners, imparts spiritual life, and gives a true understanding of Scripture. He indwells all believers, brings assurance of salvation, and produces increasing likeness to Christ. He builds up the Church and empowers its members for worship, service, and mission.
The Bible:
God has revealed Himself in the Bible, which consists of the Old and New Testaments. Every word was inspired by God through human authors, so that the Bible as originally given is in its entirety the Word of God. It is without error and is fully reliable in fact and doctrine. The Bible alone speaks with final authority and is always sufficient for all matters of belief and practice.
Salvation:
Salvation is entirely a work of God’s grace and cannot be earned or deserved. It has been accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to all in the gospel. God in His love forgives sinners whom He calls, granting them repentance and faith. All who believe in Christ are justified by faith alone, adopted into the family of God and receive eternal life.
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper:
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper have been given to the Church by Christ as visible signs of the gospel. Baptism is a symbol of union with Christ and entry into His Church but does not impart salvation or spiritual life. The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of Christ’s sacrifice offered once for all and involves no change in the bread and wine. All its blessings are received by faith.
The Human race:
All men and women, being created in the image of God; have inherent and equal dignity and worth. Their greatest purpose is to obey, worship and love God. As a result of the fall of our first parents, every aspect of human nature has been corrupted and all men and woman are without spiritual life, guilty sinners and are hostile to God. Every person is therefore under the just condemnation of God and needs to be born again, forgiven, and reconciled to God in order to know and please Him.
The Church:
The universal church is the body of which Christ is the head and to which all who are saved belong. It is made visible in the local church, which are congregations of believers who are committed to each other for the worship of God, the practice of the Word, the administering of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, for pastoral care and discipline, and for evangelism. The Unity of the body of Christ is expressed within and between churches by mutual love, care, and encouragement. True fellowship between churches exists only where they are faithful to the gospel.
The Future:
The Lord Jesus Christ will return in glory. He will raise the dead and judge the world in righteousness. The wicked will be sent to eternal punishment and the righteous will be welcomed into a life of eternal joy in fellowship with God. God will make all things new and will be glorified forever.
Fuller development of the above doctrines that we believe and teach may be found in the historic confessional statements of the Reformed Baptist tradition, which would include the First London Baptist Confession 1644, the Second London Baptist Confession 1689, the Philadelphia (1742) and New Hampshire (1833) Confessions, the Baptist Affirmation of Faith 1966 and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
